Description:

Our Client is a PE backed energy & asset support service business working within the social housing environment. They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) to join their business in this brand new role. As an ESG subject matter expert, you will play a vital role in enhancing our organization's sustainability practices, ensuring adherence to ESG principles, and promoting responsible business practices.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage ESG strategies and initiatives in line with our company's sustainability goals and industry best practices.
- Conduct comprehensive analysis and assessment of our organization's environmental impact, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing practical solutions.
- Perform extensive research on relevant ESG regulations, frameworks, and standards, staying updated with industry trends and best practices.
- Collaborate with various internal departments to integrate ESG principles into our business operations, products, and services.
- Prepare and contribute to the production of ESG reports, disclosures, and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Engage and educate employees on ESG matters, fostering a culture of sustainability and responsible business practices throughout the organization.
- Stay informed about emerging sustainability trends, risks, and opportunities, recommending new strategies to align with evolving ESG requirements.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, including investors, clients, and regulatory bodies, to ensure compliance with ESG reporting obligations.
- Contribute to the development of relevant policies, procedures, and guidelines to maintain and improve our ESG performance.
- Support the integration of ESG into investment decision-making processes, working closely with the investment and finance teams.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an ESG subject matter expert or in a similar role, preferably within a corporate setting or consultancy firm.
- Strong knowledge of ESG frameworks and standards, such as Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), or United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- Familiarity with relevant sustainability and ESG reporting guidelines (e.g., CDP, DJSI, FTSE4Good, MSCI ESG Ratings).
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and identify trends.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey ESG concepts to diverse audiences.
- Proficient in using sustainability reporting platforms and tools.
- In-depth understanding of current ESG trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships across various levels of the organization.

* Reporting and Compliance: Oversee the preparation and publication of sustainability reports, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
* Risk Management: Assess potential sustainability risks and start to develop mitigation strategies
