Head of Engineering (Hybrid working)

Description:

We are now recruiting for an Experienced Head of Engineering to join a forever growing, automated systems integration company with the intralogistics sector, where future progression is almost a guarantee for a person with drive and dedication to succeed in their career. 

You will have overall accountability for the performance of the Integrated Projects Engineering teams
of Project Engineering (Mechanical Design), Controls Engineering (PLC based systems), Integration testing and Electrical Design.
Responsible for ensuring technical solution is compliant with contract requirements and meets appropriate standards to be able to provide a UKCA certificate at job completion.
Responsible for the motivation, development and performance of the Engineering team.
A key Senior Manager in the business who will work alongside the Head of Projects and Purchasing Manager, to ensure Integrated projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget and to the required quality standards.  Key Responsibilities

To lead the Engineering teams to ensure appropriate detail designs are completed that meet contractual and compliance requirements for all Integrated Projects.
To ensure that design work schedules are met and design budgets are adhered to.
To plan resource requirements for projects and manage work schedules, capacity planning,
recruitment, training, development and associated team needs and performance.
To call, attend, lead as necessary design reviews on Engineering elements, ensuring the optimum
technical solution is met in line with schedule, budget and resource requirements.
To proactively lead development of people, processes and design solutions to foster a continuous
improvement culture within the team and ensure the business can always meet the future needs of
the customers.
Own the financial performance of the engineering team on each integrated projects – supporting the project manager to generate cost forecasts and attending the Finance reviews to present performance to the business executive team.
Support the pre-sale team as required with quotations and technical guidance on prospect projects
Support the Support team with appropriate technical information and documentation to allow
projects to be supported post go live
Lead a continuous improvement and lessons learned culture within engineering Education and Skills

Graduate in relevant area or HNC and significant experience in a related role.
Computer literate in MS365 applications.
High levels of numeracy
Ability to manage conflicting priorities
Experience in an Engineering leadership role within the same or a similar industry would be highly desirable.
Evidence of experience at a detail level in a relevant design discipline highly desirable Application Process
