Are you a Senior Ecologist looking to take control of a team, working on highly complex projects in a hybrid working style?

In this Monday-to-Friday position, you will lead the day-to-day management of the ecology team while developing new relevant opportunities and preparing fee proposals. You will also work alongside colleagues from other departments to ensure multi-disciplinary projects are delivered to a high quality and budget. Overall, you will be tasked with the management of the Ecology department and will coordinate the production of reports, manage subcontracts, liaise with clients, and develop and mentor junior team members to increase quality and output.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience within an Ecology-based role preferably within a consultancy. They will also be educated to a minimum bachelor's level in a relevant field and will have a proven record of mentoring staff to develop competencies.

The Role:

Manage the dayto-day operations of the ecology team
Develop new ecology service opportunities, prepare proposals, and oversee project delivery alongside other departments
Ensure highquality outputs by managing reports, coordinating subcontracts, and liaising with clients
Mentor and develop junior team members to enhance team skills and overall department effectiveness
The Person:

Educated to Bachelors level in an Ecology related discipline
Extensive experience within an ecology role with knowledge of Legislation, survey techniques, licensing & mitigation, preferably within a consultancy
Experience in preparing bids and managing projects and colleagues
Protected Species License
Membership to a relevant Professional Institution
