Description:
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Manager to join the Assets Management and Safety team for a large housing association based in Birmingham. The role will involve developing and implementing the Asset Management Strategy and overseeing the delivery of cost-effective strategies to manage the assets and ensure the safety of the properties. This is a full time position working Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 5pm.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Provide leadership for the Asset Investment, Compliance and Safety team ensuring effective management of resources, services and people.
* Lead the team in the effective maintenance, investment and performance of the organisation assets and ensuring compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
* Take responsibility for the organisation’s stock investment programme and ensure it is appropriately funded.
* Support in the development and implementation of the energy appraisal systems.
* Ensure effective performance monitoring, lifecycle costing techniques and quality management or planned maintenance programmes.
* Ensure compliance with all appropriate regulations and legislative requirements, developing and implementing safe working practices.
* Lead on the effective procurement and management for all contractors. Ensuring procedures are in place for monitoring and auditing of contracts.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Hold a degree or professional qualification in a related subject and membership of a professional body e.g. CIOB, RICS and IOSH
* Comprehensive knowledge of building and safety legislation, standards and best practice relating to Social Housing
* Experience and expertise in preparing and presenting executive level reports
* Managed significant budgets and developed long-term financial investment forecasts
