Head of Asset Performance

Renewable Energy Sector

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + 10% Bonus

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing organisation within the renewable energy sector for a Head of Asset Performance.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced asset performance, operations, or engineering professional to take ownership of a portfolio of renewable energy assets, driving performance optimisation, contractual compliance, and operational excellence.

The Role

As Head of Asset Performance, you will lead the performance management of operational renewable energy assets, ensuring they achieve optimum availability, performance, and energy yield targets.

You will work closely with operational teams, technical specialists, and external stakeholders to identify performance issues, implement corrective actions, manage contractual obligations, and maximise asset value.

Key responsibilities include:

* Leading portfolio-wide asset performance across availability, performance ratio (PR), and energy yield metrics.

* Managing performance risk, including contractual obligations and liquidated damages (LD) exposure.

* Conducting detailed performance reviews and driving performance improvement initiatives.

* Leading root cause analysis of technical and operational performance issues.

* Working closely with field operations teams and subcontractors to ensure effective implementation of corrective actions.

* Overseeing asset performance reporting, KPI tracking, dashboards, and performance analytics.

* Supporting contractual performance requirements, including availability guarantees and acceptance testing processes.

* Quantifying and communicating financial risks associated with asset underperformance.

* Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of asset performance analysts.

* Building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders through clear and proactive communication.

About You

We are keen to speak with candidates who possess:

* Proven experience within renewable energy, asset performance, operations, engineering, or a similar asset-intensive environment.

* Strong understanding of Solar PV and/or Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

* Experience managing performance against contractual KPIs, guarantees, or service agreements.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

* Experience using performance monitoring and reporting tools such as SCADA systems, Power BI, and Excel.

* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

* Commercial awareness and an understanding of performance-related financial risks.

* Previous leadership, mentoring, or team management experience would be advantageous.
