Xander Catering Ltd. is seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to oversee our catering operations at the Terminal 2 Upgrade Project site. As the Head Chef, you will lead a team dedicated to providing exceptional dining experiences to the staff working on the terminal 2 upgrade project. This is a dynamic role that requires creativity, strong leadership, and a passion for delivering high-quality meals.
Key Responsibilities:
Menu Planning: Develop innovative and diverse menus that cater to a range of tastes and dietary preferences while ensuring nutritional balance and quality.
Food Preparation: Oversee food preparation and cooking activities, ensuring adherence to recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
Team Leadership: Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling. Foster a positive work environment and encourage teamwork.
Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety. Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper stock rotation.
Cost Management: Control food and labour costs within budgetary constraints. Implement efficient kitchen practices to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
Client Interaction: Collaborate closely with project stakeholders to understand their needs and preferences. Adapt menus and services accordingly.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Head Chef or similar role in a high-volume catering environment.
Extensive culinary skills and a creative approach to menu planning.
Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen best practices.
Proficiency in managing food and labour costs while delivering exceptional quality.
Flexibility to adapt to changing demands and client preferences.
Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are desirable.
