Title: Harvesting Manager
Location: Howden (Goole)
Salary: £50,000
We are looking for an experienced harvesting or fresh produce manager to join our client’s team in Howden. They are experts in their field and have a rare opening for a position in their leadership team. A family-owned business 3 generations in the making, a fantastic opportunity for professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Ensure harvest quality and quantity reaches targets.
- Train, coach, and mentor team members to reach picking targets.
- Complete staffing plans for shifts and arrange additional resource when required.
- Assess the crop daily and ensure the correct manning and plans are in place with anticipated yields.
- Ensure the products picked are of the highest possible standards checking recommended weights and sizing guidelines.
- Attend daily ops meetings.
- Ensure customer orders are fulfilled by planning harvesting activities with sales requirements.
- Monitor harvest statistics ensuring all staff achieve minimum targets.
- Monday to Friday with occasional weekend requirement on an ADHOC basis.
- Core hours of 0800 – 1700.
Required Skills/Experience
- Previous experience at supervisory level or higher in a fresh produce or harvesting capacity.
- Good communication skills and people management skills.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Team player.
- Advanced food hygiene qualification.
