Role Purpose
To assist with the Production of the Council's Statement of Accounts, and interpret and be responsible for ensuring the Council is following latest guidance, audit requirements and best practices and ensure full compliance with relevant Accounting code and statutory reporting requirements.
To contribute to the development and maintenance of Corporate Financial Policies, Strategies, Systems and Practices and to manage the development and continuous improvement of the Finance Team to incorporate best practice.
To assist with co-ordination of the external audit process.Generic Duties
Implement and champion, through service and staff development, the Council's Health and Safety, Equal Opportunity and Information Security Policies.
To ensure that the post holder complies with their responsibilities as laid out in the council's health and safety policy and takes an active role in promoting a positive health and safety culture.
Promote and ensure participation in the Council's individual performance appraisal and development initiatives and information management best practice.
To support the operation and general elections when requested by the returning officer.You must be a CCAB Qualified Accountant to be successful for this role.
