Make an impact on real hardware, from concept to final product.

A growing engineering team in Colchester is looking for a Hardware Verification & Test Engineer to take ownership of validating complex electronic hardware throughout the full product lifecycle.

If you enjoy hands‑on testing, structured verification, and deep technical debugging, this role gives you the autonomy to shape how products are tested, verified, and signed off for release.

What you’ll be doing
- Building and executing hardware verification plans and structured test cases
- Performing hands‑on hardware testing across functional, performance, reliability, and stress domains
- Running environmental tests (thermal cycling, shock, vibration, humidity)
- Using oscilloscopes, logic analysers, multimeters, power supplies, and other lab equipment
- Debugging hardware issues down to component or subsystem level
- Working closely with hardware, firmware, and design teams to identify, track, and resolve defects
- Writing simple Python or Linux shell scripts to automate or support test activities
- Ensuring requirements traceability using Jama, DOORS, or similar tools
- Continuously improving verification coverage, processes, and test efficiency

What you’ll bring
- Strong background in electronics hardware testing or verification
- Ability to create structured test plans and clear documentation
- Hands‑on experience with environmental and stress testing
- Confident debugging skills using standard lab tools
- Ability to write basic Python or Linux scripts
- Familiarity with Jama, DOORS, or similar requirements management tools
- A methodical, analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently in a lab environment

Nice to have
- Experience with automated test frameworks
- Knowledge of EMC, safety, or compliance testing
- Exposure to embedded systems or firmware‑hardware interaction

Why this role stands out
- Own the verification strategy for real hardware products
- Work in a hands‑on, technically challenging environment
- Join a supportive engineering team with strong collaboration
- Long‑term progression and the chance to influence product quality
