Handyman (Fixed-Term Contract – 6 Months)

Location: Newmarket
Salary: £35,000 per annum (pro rata)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Handyman to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract in Newmarket. Working within a commercial environment, you will be responsible for carrying out a variety of planned and reactive maintenance tasks to ensure the premises remain safe, functional, and well maintained.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong maintenance background who enjoys a varied, hands-on role.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out general building maintenance and repairs.

Perform basic plumbing, carpentry, painting and decorating tasks.

*

Replace fixtures and fittings as required.

*

Complete minor electrical maintenance (where competent).

*

Conduct routine inspections and report any defects.

*

Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests.

*

Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with health and safety procedures.

*

Maintain a clean and organised work area.

About You

*

Previous experience in a handyman, maintenance or facilities role.

*

Experience working within a commercial property or facilities environment.

*

Good all-round practical skills across multiple trades.

*

Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.

*

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

*

Good communication and customer service skills.

*

Full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.

What We Offer
