Sayjo Recruitment Ltd are acting on behalf of a client to recruit a full time Handyman/ Women / Site Maintenance
This is a permanent position, we are looking for a self-motivated, reliable, trustworthy, good all-rounder to join a small team, to maintain or client’s grounds and buildings to a very high standard. Our client has a large site based in Elland, plus a number of sites they maintain as a commercial landlord.
Job role & responsibilities:
* Basic plumbing jobs, changing taps, fixing leaks, maintaining toilets etc…
* Internal and external painting
* Hanging pictures and signage
* Carpet cleaning
* Snow ploughing in winter, gritting
* Gardening
* Litter picking
* Repairs to fencing
* Cleaning gutters
* Leaf sweeping and blowing
* Fire alarm testing
* Meter reading
* Car valeting
* Lock up, site security, on call rota
Skills and experience required:
* Reliable, trustworthy and self-motivated
* Previous experience as a key holder would be preferred/but not essential
* Must be willing to lock up every other week and be on-call for alarms
* Reactive and able to pick up a variety of different jobs, planned and unplanned.
* Basic plumbing skills
* Basic gardening skills, weeding, mowing, hedge trimming, leaf blowing etc..
* Painting skills
* Ability to hang pictures and signs
* General maintenance skills
* Driving license is essential
* Ability to work at heights
* FLT License or willingness to learn
* Friendly, well presented and good attitude to work
* Happy to work in an environment where no 2 days ever the same, work is reactive, not always planned, successful candidate must be comfortable working this way.
Hours of work:
8am – 4.30pm Mon – Thurs / 8am – 3.30pm Fri (39 hours paid)
Plus, every other week, you would be required to lock up site at 6pm Mon to Fri and that week you will be on call in the event of an alarm going off out of hours.
For this reason, we are looking for someone who lives with 15-minute commute of site in Elland.
