Key Responsibilities of a Group Finance Director:
* Manage cashflow to ensure groupwide financial resilience.
* Direct and control finance staff with authority to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and developed and so that they carry out their responsibilities to the required standard.
* Contribute to the achievement of the company's business objectives by providing analysis, models, advice and guidance on business financial matters.
* Develop and control the company's annual operating budget to ensure that all financial targets are met and financial and statutory regulations complied with.
* To complete a rolling 12-week cashflow forecast and, beyond that, a 12-week cash planning model each week.
* Provide financial advice and guidance, including budget performance and return on investment calculations, to the company's managers and staff to enable them to achieve their objectives.
* Oversee the preparation of the company's management accounts to ensure that these are presented accurately and on time.
* Provide Group level consolidated management accounts at agreed intervals.
* Develop and implement internal audit programmes to ensure that the company complies with financial procedures and regulations.
* Develop and maintain all necessary systems, policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial management within the company.
* Monitor external contracts and services provided by suppliers to ensure that these are operating effectively and provide the best value to the company.
* Contribute to external customer policies such as tender documents, customer discounts and rebates to ensure margin is not eroded.
* Carry out all necessary actions to ensure that the company meets its financial and legal obligations.
Skills and Qualifications required of a Group Finance Director:
* A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field is essential. Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
