Groundworker

Description:

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Groundworker to join our clients construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a variety of groundwork and civil engineering tasks to a high standard, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out all aspects of block paving, including ground preparation, laying, cutting, and finishing.
* Complete concrete works, including foundations, slabs, footings, and other structural concrete installations.
* Construct, erect, and dismantle formwork (shuttering) for concrete works.
* Safely operate abrasive wheel equipment for cutting concrete, paving, kerbs, and other construction materials.
* Install ducting for utilities, including drainage, electrical, water, and telecommunications services.
* Lay paving, kerbs, edging, and associated hard landscaping works.
* Excavate and prepare sites for foundations and utility installations.
* Read and interpret construction drawings and site plans.
* Use of hand tools, and power tools safely and effectively.
* Work collaboratively with site managers, supervisors, and other trades to ensure projects are completed on time.
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
* Comply with all company policies, site rules, and current health and safety legislation.
* Report any hazards, defects, or incidents promptly to site management.

Person Specification

Essential

* Previous experience as a Groundworker within the construction industry.
* Proven experience in block paving, paving, concrete works, formwork, ducting, and the safe use of abrasive wheels.
* Good understanding of construction methods and health and safety requirements.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Reliable, punctual, and committed to producing high-quality work.
* Valid CSCS Card
