Groundworker / Kerb Layer (Gang 2)
Halstead, Essex | Section 278 Highway Works
Temporary | Start: 27th July 2026

The Project

We are recruiting on behalf of a highways contractor for the Bournebridge Hill, Halstead Section 278 Highway Works scheme in Essex. Two competent gangs are required to deliver a high-quality highways scheme through to December 2026.

Working Hours

* Monday to Friday | 07:30 – 16:30

* Occasional Saturday working | 07:30 – 12:00

The Role

You will work as part of a three-man gang on a live highways scheme, carrying out kerb laying and general groundworks activities across the site.

Scope of works includes:

* Installing kerbs, edgings and tactile paving

* Drainage installation including ditches and new surface water drainage runs

* Carriageway construction support works

* General highways groundworks

Requirements

* Proven kerb laying experience (essential)

* Previous highways or civils groundworks experience

* CSCS card

* NRSWA Streetworks Operative ticket (at least one gang member per gang must hold this)

* Full 6-point PPE

* Available to start 27th July 2026 and commit to the full duration
