Description:
Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Grounds Operative to join Conwy Council’s Environmental Team on an initial 3 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 7am to 6pm on a rota basis including occasional weekends. (4 days on and 4 days off).
Duties:
* To be responsible for the general cleanliness of an area to include mechanical, hand sweeping and litter collection using a handcart.
* To be responsible for the emptying of litter and dog bins.
* To collect fly tipping.
* To act as a point of contact for Council Services and to observe and report any general community needs, defects or damage including the general status and condition of street nameplates, street signs, road gullies, seats, litter and dog bins etc.
* Interact with members of the public in a courteous and professional manner.
* Operate a range of tools and machinery in order to successfully carry out day to day operations
* Carry out a range of maintenance operations on Open Spaces street furniture
* Carry out distribution and removal of sandbags as a consequence of inclement weather
Requirements:
* Experience of street cleansing operations
* Manual handling experience
