£14.47 per hour | Monday to Friday | 37 Hours Per Week
Full UK Driving Licence Essential
Vanta Staffing is recruiting an experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative to join a busy outdoor maintenance team working across various locations throughout Slough.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with practical grounds maintenance, landscaping or horticultural experience who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in maintaining public spaces and green areas to a high standard.
The role offers regular Monday-to-Friday work, with occasional overtime opportunities, for a reliable and hardworking individual.
Key Responsibilities
Carrying out grass cutting, strimming and general grounds maintenance.
Operating pedestrian mowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers and other grounds maintenance equipment.
Cutting and maintaining hedges, shrubs and overgrown vegetation.
Clearing leaves, weeds, litter and general debris from outdoor areas.
Maintaining grassed areas, pathways, verges and public green spaces.
Carrying out seasonal grounds maintenance duties as required.
Loading, unloading and transporting tools, equipment and materials.
Driving between different locations throughout the working day.
Conducting basic equipment checks and reporting any faults or safety concerns.
Following safe working practices, including the correct use of PPE and equipment.
Working efficiently as part of a team to complete scheduled maintenance tasks.
Essential Requirements
Full, valid UK driving licence – essential.
Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, horticulture or a similar outdoor role.
Practical experience operating strimmers, hedge cutters, lawnmowers and other grounds maintenance equipment.
Good understanding of safe working practices when using powered outdoor equipment.
Physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual work throughout the day.
Willing and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Reliable, punctual and committed to regular attendance.
Able to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
A positive, hardworking attitude with good attention to detail.
Desirable Experience
Previous experience maintaining parks, public spaces, housing estates or commercial grounds.
Experience working within a local authority or contracted grounds maintenance team.
Relevant horticultural or grounds maintenance qualifications.
Experience driving work vehicles and transporting maintenance equipment.
Pay, Hours & Contract
Pay Rate: £14.47 per hour
Location: Slough and surrounding areas
Working Days: Monday to Friday
Weekly Hours: 37 hours
Overtime: Occasionally available, depending on operational requirements
