Job Description: We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Gardener/Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the grounds of colleges and housing association sites in the Hayes, Uxbridge, and Slough areas. This role involves both gardening duties and driving responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Gardening Duties:
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, weeding, and pruning to ensure the neatness and health of lawns, plants, and trees.
Plant and maintain flowers, shrubs, and other greenery according to seasonal requirements and landscape designs.
Monitor and control pests and diseases, applying appropriate treatments as necessary.
Regularly inspect irrigation systems and make adjustments or repairs as needed.
Maintain garden tools and equipment in good working condition.
Driving Responsibilities:
Safely operate company vehicles to transport gardening equipment, tools, and materials to various work sites.
Follow established routes and schedules to ensure timely arrival at assigned locations.
Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, maintaining a clean driving record.
Assist with loading and unloading equipment and supplies from the vehicle.
Site Management:
Work closely with the site supervisor to prioritize tasks and coordinate activities efficiently.
Communicate effectively with clients and respond to their requests or concerns in a professional manner.
Keep accurate records of work performed, including hours worked, materials used, and tasks completed.Requirements:
Previous experience in gardening or landscaping, preferably in a commercial or institutional setting.
A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Familiarity with driving routes in the Hayes, Uxbridge, and Slough areas is advantageous.
Strong knowledge of horticultural practices and techniques.
