Horizon Teachers are working with a supportive and welcoming secondary school in Croydon, South London, who are looking for an enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible until July 2027. This is a fantastic opportunity for ambitious graduates, particularly those from leading UK universities, who are considering a career in secondary teaching and looking to gain valuable classroom experience before pursuing a PGCE or other teacher training qualification.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside experienced teachers to support pupils across KS3 and KS4, assisting with lesson delivery, providing 1:1 and small-group support, and helping students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including ASD, ADHD and learning difficulties. Based in Croydon, South London, this full-time role offers excellent experience in classroom management, pupil engagement and inclusive education.

The ideal Graduate Teaching Assistant will:

Hold a bachelor's degree, ideally from a Russell Group or leading UK university.
Have a genuine interest in pursuing a career in secondary teaching.
Be confident supporting secondary-aged pupils individually and in small groups.
Demonstrate strong communication skills, patience and an enthusiastic, proactive attitude.
