An established engineering consultancy specialising in temporary works design is looking to appoint a Graduate Civil Engineer to join its growing Glasgow team. The business is recognised for delivering practical engineering solutions on complex construction and infrastructure projects throughout the UK.
This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of technically challenging projects while receiving direct support from highly experienced engineers. You will be involved in projects from concept design through to site delivery, developing a strong foundation in both engineering design and construction methodologies.
The Role
You will contribute to the design and delivery of temporary works projects across a variety of sectors, including:
Infrastructure and transportation
Rail
Heritage and conservation projects
Commercial and residential developments
Major public sector schemes
Construction, refurbishment and demolition projects
Key responsibilities include:
Assisting with engineering design and project development
Producing design calculations and technical reports
Supporting the preparation of CAD drawings and design packages
Attending site visits, inspections and client meetings
Undertaking risk assessments and reviewing construction methodologies
Coordinating with contractors, clients and multidisciplinary design teams
Supporting project delivery from feasibility through to completion
Developing technical knowledge through ongoing training and mentoring
Requirements
Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or similar discipline
Strong interest in civil and structural engineering
Good communication and organisational skills
Analytical mindset with a practical approach to problem solving
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Ambition to progress towards Chartership
