Are you a Sports Graduate looking to gain valuable experience in a secondary school before progressing into teacher training or a career in education? Academics are currently recruiting a confident and enthusiastic Graduate Sports Assistant to join an outstanding school in Ealing from October.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Sports Graduate, PE Graduate or recent university graduate to gain broad experience across PE, sports coaching, 1:1 SEN support and academic intervention within a supportive school environment.

The school has excellent sports facilities and a strong reputation for supporting students' academic, personal and physical development. You will work alongside experienced teachers and support staff while developing valuable classroom, pastoral and SEND experience.

The Graduate Sports Assistant Role

This is a varied role, combining PE and sports, 1:1 student support and academic intervention. You will work alongside the PE Department, supporting lessons, extracurricular activities and sporting development. You will take responsibility for delivering a sports, so confidence and experience in at least one of these sports is essential. You will have the opportunity to develop your sports coaching, classroom management and leadership skills while encouraging students to participate in physical activity and develop their sporting ability. You will provide dedicated support to students helping them access learning and participate fully in school life. Alongside your PE/sport responsibilities, you will provide 1:1 and small-group academic support across years 7.,8 and 9. Supporting pupils develop their confidence, understanding and engagement with core subjects, working closely with teachers to provide additional intervention and support where required.

What We Are Looking For

The successful Graduate Sports Assistant will have:

A Sports-related degree, ideally achieving a 2:1 or above.
Strong sporting ability and confidence coaching.
Experience or the willingness to provide 1:1 support students in class.
Experience working with children, young people, sports clubs or educational settings is desirable.
A genuine passion for sport, education and working with children.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A positive, patient and enthusiastic approach.
The ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.Why Apply?
