Opportunity for permanent employment and teacher training

A Graduate Mentor is needed in a Mixed Secondary School & Sixth Form in South West London.

This will be a full time long term Graduate Mentor position with scope to go permanent.

Working hours for this Graduate Mentor post will be 8am to 4pm.

Responsibilities for this Graduate Mentor role will include but not be limited to:

Acting as a mentor for vulnerable students through effective role modelling, forming positive relationships and utilising creative approaches which provide them with the skills to be successful and happy
Providing targeted interventions and support to students within the key stage and contribute to the raising standards agenda
Encouraging and enabling students to become independent and resilient learners by providing one to one and small group coaching in academic related skills, wellbeing & self-management and emotional literacy

The rates of pay for this Graduate Mentor position will be between £99.75 to £116.55 a day, depending on the qualifications and experiences of each applicant.

The School

An 'Outstanding' Secondary School & Sixth Form in the London Borough of Merton.

It is a mixed, 11 - 18, non-selective school with a wide demographic of pupils and staff.

90% of students stay in education or employment after Key Stage 4.

The site has its own dedicated SEN Support Centre and a variety of sports facilities.

Ofsted have noted there is positive culture of learning and a strong sense of community.

Requirements

You're welcome to apply to this Graduate Mentor post if you're a British trained Graduate Mentor or overseas trained Graduate Mentor.

All applicants must have the following in order to be considered for this role as a Graduate Mentor:

Right to work in the UK
Clear and up to date Enhanced DBS
UK Bachelor's Degree or overseas equivalent
Experience of working with children/teenagers/young people or as a Graduate Mentor in UK schools
