Graduate Manufacturing Technician

This is a hands-on role working within a highly skilled and experienced team, assembling and testing technically advanced RF and electronic products used in specialist microwave radar applications.

The role involves the manufacture, test and repair of high-reliability products, alongside supporting continuous improvement activities to enhance product quality, manufacturability and production efficiency. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality output while developing their technical knowledge, practical manufacturing skills and understanding of high-reliability electronic products.

Key Responsibilities of the Role Will Include:

* Assembly & Test - Assemble and test RF and electronic products using a range of techniques, including mechanical assembly, epoxy processes, PCB soldering and RF assembly, in line with defined build documentation. Follow detailed work instructions and test procedures to ensure consistent product quality.

* Production Data & Documentation - Accurately complete production records, build documentation and test results. Raise issues and support updates to documentation to ensure it remains current and reflects best practice.

* Fault Finding & Repair - Support fault finding and repair activities for production issues and customer returns within agreed timescales. Work with Engineering teams to feedback recurring issues and support long-term improvements.

* Continuous Improvement - Contribute to continuous improvement activities, including 5S, visual management and process improvements. Proactively identify opportunities to improve product quality, build efficiency and working practices, and share ideas with the team.

Essential Experience / Competencies

* Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Electronic Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

* Build instructions and test procedures.

* soldering, and demonstrating ESD compliance.

* RF or microwave assemblies.

* Understanding of electronic test methods and equipment.

* Lean manufacturing tools (e.g. 5S, visual management, waste reduction)
