Graduate Engineering Geologist
Derby | £28,000 - £30,000
Are you a recent Geology or Engineering Geology graduate looking to start your career in consultancy?
We're working with a well-established ground engineering consultancy in Derby who are looking to add a Graduate Engineering Geologist to their team.
This is a great opportunity to get involved in a mixture of site and office-based work, while learning from experienced engineers and geologists and building your technical knowledge.
What you'll be doing
You'll work across a range of projects, getting involved in:
Ground investigations and site work
Soil and rock logging
Reviewing and interpreting ground investigation information
Producing factual and interpretative reports
Supporting geotechnical assessments and design
Preparing technical documentation
Working alongside engineers, geologists and other consultants
Liaising with clients and contractors
Developing your understanding of ground conditions and how they influence constructionYou'll be given plenty of support early on, with the opportunity to gradually take on more responsibility as your experience develops.
What we're looking for
Ideally, you'll have:
A degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or a related subject
A genuine interest in engineering geology and the wider ground engineering sector
Good written and verbal communication skills
A willingness to get involved with both site and office work
A practical approach and a willingness to learn
A full UK driving licence, or be working towards onePrevious consultancy experience isn't essential - we're primarily looking for someone with the right attitude who is keen to develop their career.
