We are seeking highly motivated and dynamic graduates looking to start their career in the nuclear industry and to join our London and Bristol teams supporting key clients in southern England. The successful candidates will support the delivery of technical engineering & safety case authoring for a number of major projects within the nuclear power generation sector.
 
Role Description and Responsibilities
This role provides an opportunity to be part of an exciting, dynamic, and rapidly growing nuclear team across the south of England with opportunities to be on an industrial site. Typical responsibilities may include:

Working as part of a team to provide technical input to resolve complex problems,
Production of formal technical reports, safety cases and other project deliverables on time and to budget,
Reviewing equipment reliability data and producing assessments to aid on-site maintenance,
Generating key nuclear safety operating documentation,
Supporting the delivery of safety cases,
Supporting Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies,
Interfacing with clients. 
The technical development and mentoring of our growing nuclear team is a key benefit of this role, as well as having the opportunity to participate in company initiatives, such as industry networking, learning through internal CPD training courses and using techniques and toolkits to deliver work more efficiently. The role also provides the potential to support other Risktec sectors such as oil and gas, clean energy, transport, defence, and conventional power in the future.
 
Risktec’s portfolio of work in the nuclear field across southern England includes opportunities to work on safety cases and technical project engineering for plant modifications at Sizewell B; engineering support in preparation for decommissioning at Hinkley Point B; safety case documentation production for SMR Generic Design Assessments; support to HPC nuclear safety group & HPC commissioning along with the potential for new opportunities at the recently announced Sizewell C.  Risktec also has opportunities on international nuclear projects with countries such as Canada, Norway, and Australia.
 
Key Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:

A drive to ensure successful delivery of work and continuous client satisfaction,
The ability to work as part of a team, as well as to work independently where needed,
Clear communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong organisational skills,
Strong analytical and logical skills,
Based near Bristol or London
Ability to travel to nuclear sites,
A degree with suitable Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical) / Nuclear focus.

Additional Information
Whilst flexible and hybrid working arrangements can be agreed, a proportion of time may be spent on sites to benefit the candidate’s development and technical understanding alongside building relationship with our key clients. The ability to drive is therefore preferable.
 
Security Clearance
Due to the nature of the work, the candidates must have a suitable background that will allow them to achieve UK security clearance to a minimum level of BPSS.
