Graduate Electrical Design Engineer
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Location: Wellingborough, Northampton
Hours: 9am- 5.30pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience + 23 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays + Private Medical Insurance
The Role:
We are working with a leading engineering firm specialising in the design, development, and implementation of steel structures. They are looking for a Graduate Electrical Design Engineer to focus on the design and development of electrical control systems for heavy lifting equipment. Full training will be provided for this position, the successful candidate will have an enthusiasm for Electrical Engineering and be eager broaden their electrical knowledge in a professional environment. This would suit candidates who are looking for opportunities to develop and progress their career as they broaden their knowledge.
Responsibilities:
Designing and developing electrical and control systems for heavy lifting equipment, including detailed specifications, circuit diagrams, and schematics.
Ensuring compliance with relevant electrical design and safety standards, European directives, and legislation.
Executing projects by conducting feasibility studies, installing, commissioning, testing, and operating equipment in workshop and field settings, as well as providing technical support to customers.
Documenting all work performed, maintaining technical literature, and delivering training programs for customers on equipment use, service, and repair.
Performing routine and corrective maintenance on equipment in the workshop.
Skills Required:
Degree qualification in an Electrical Engineering Bachelor's Degree or related subject.
Knowledge (from studies) in designing electrical systems.
An understanding of electrical principles, codes and standards.
Excellent problem solving and organisational skills.
Knowledge in the use of CAD packages (AutoCad and/or Inventor or EPLAN).
Willingness to travel abroad on occasion.
Lives within commutable distance of their Wellingborough office.
Full UK Driving Licence.
