Our Public Sector Client is seeking a full time Governor Development Co-ordinator on an initial 6 month contractual basis.
The successful candidate will need to have an understanding of school governance legislation and education.
Essential Experience & Skills
* Up-to-date knowledge of current government legislation, especially relating to Governance and issues associated with the re-constitution of Governing Bodies. In-depth knowledge of current local, regional and national education issues and how they impact on school governance.
* Experience of working in an educational context related to this role. Current or recent experience of serving as a school governor.
* Positive and creative thinker who is proactive in developing new initiatives and finding solutions to meet customer needs. Relevant experience of training adults.
* Experience of planning, delivering and monitoring a cost effective service that meets customer needs, with a focus on high quality customer service. Able to plan, prioritise and organise work under pressure to deadlines.
* Experience of producing clear and concise communications and guidance documents based on interpretation of legislation and government initiatives.
* Experience of working across organisational boundaries at a senior level to achieve mutual objectives.
* Experience of managing projects and directing the work of others.
* To be self-motivated and able to motivate others and the ability to work alone, as well as part of a team.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, counselling and negotiating skills.
* Able to demonstrate knowledge and/or experience of equalities and diversity issues.
* Have a working knowledge of business and teamworking applications, for example Microsoft 365 or equivalent, including email, word processing, spreadsheet, browser, team collaboration applications, and have a willingness to learn new applications and technology as required.
Desirable
* Experience in the role of Chair of Governors.
* Experience of delivering Governor training.
* Experience of producing communications or guidance for Governors or Headteachers
