Description:

Sf Recruitment are working with a leading manufacturing business just south of Cannock , to recruit a logistics/goods in supervisor. Working hours : 7:15-16:45 M-Thurs, 7:45 till 11:45 Friday.

Summary:

The Goods In Dispatch Leader is a key role responsible for overseeing a team of Logistics workers, ensuring the seamless and efficient operation of the Goods In and Dispatch area. This leadership position requires a detail-oriented professional with robust leadership skills and an in-depth understanding of Logistics processes. The mission for this role is to ensure all parts are received, transactions completed, and items put away in a timely manner.
The individual is responsible for parts from time of receipt until time of put away in the correct locations. The Goods in and Dispatch Supervisor is also responsible for the accurate and prompt issue of parts to customers and for the control of PP stock located in bulk, FG and container locations. The Goods In Dispatch Leader will drive continuous improvements within the area through the SQCDP measures, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

Communication.
- Conduct structured morning meetings and further daily communication with the team to ensure clear communication of targets and objectives. Frequent communication of SQCDP status and targets.
- Build and maintain direct relationships with customers and suppliers, providing clear communication on all aspects of day-to-day operations.
- Escalate relevant issues promptly to the Logistics Manager.
Safety.
- Ensure that all Company policies, procedures and legal requirements are adhered to which promote the Company's culture.
- Collaborate with the H&S officer and committee to reduce risks in the area through effective risk assessments.
- Ensure a safe working environment through regular safety controls audits.
- Supervision of all Forklift Operations.
- Investigate accidents and enforce all safety controls (method statements) in the area.
- Cleanliness and safety of the Finished Goods, Goods In area Containers and bulk storage areas including all 5S processes.

Quality.
- Carry out full Investigations and provide clear accurate responses to Customer concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Accountable for the accuracy of Inventory in bulk, finished goods and offsite stock at Telford TSI.
- Booking of parts immediately into location and locating items as quickly as possible after receiving them to Navision.
- Highlighting the early receipt of product to the Stores Manager prior to booking in and then taking follow up action.
- Regular communication with the Purchasing Team to ensure that they are informed of over stock and early receipts.

Cost.
- Responsible for cost effectively Booking and arranging transport and monitoring subsequent costs.
- Ensure team engagement with targets and objectives.
- Monitor work productivity and report any concerns to the store's manager.
- Constantly strive for productivity gains through VA activity and removal or 8 wastes.

Delivery.
- Develop a visual plan for the team aligned with the work-to-list, outlining expectations for each team member.
- Raise issues to line manager where goods are not available in locations 24 hrs before dispatch.
- Dispatching product punctually to meet the sales order schedule. Highlighting any items which are overdue to the relevant Cell planners.
- Manage the sales order returns process ensuring parts are booked in punctually and issued to the customer after completion of repair.
- Work with minimum supervision to identify, predict and resolve problems.
- Ensure the necessary stock levels of packaging are available in the dispatch area.
- Work closely with other support functions to deliver the company's objectives.
- Advocate for the customer and uphold the promised delivery date.
- Keep customers and systems fully updated on any delays and expected planned dates.
- Coordinate with other departments to address exceptions.
