Glasshouse / Growing Manager – Soft Fruit

* Location: Norfolk (Place UK)

* Salary: c. £70,000 + Package

Lead high-tech growing operations and drive crop performance for a premier Norfolk producer.

An experienced Glasshouse / Growing Manager is sought to oversee crop performance, environmental control, and yield strategy across our clients soft fruit and commercial fruit enterprises. This is a key operational seat with end-to-end accountability for crop health, production efficiency, and continuous innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

* Crop & Commercial Performance: Manage commercial growing strategies, crop husbandry, and seasonal production targets in close collaboration with the Head of Fresh.

* Glasshouse & Climate Control: Oversee environmental controls, irrigation, nutrition (EC/pH), and climate management systems (including Priva) across protected and heated cropping environments.

* Agronomy & Plant Health: Lead crop protection strategies, biological pest control (IPM), and regular agronomy walks to ensure optimal plant health and quality.

* Trials & Innovation: Spearhead new variety trials, season-extension projects, and modern commercial growing techniques to optimize yield and labour efficiency.

* Leadership & Team Management: Direct daily farm/husbandry teams, set operational priorities, and mentor junior growing staff.

What We’re Looking For:

* Commercial Growing Expertise: Proven track record managing glasshouse or protected soft fruit/horticultural operations at a senior level.

* Technical Depth: Hands-on experience with environmental control systems (Priva), fertigation, and biological crop protection.

* Data-Driven & Innovative: A continuous improvement mindset with experience leading trial work and implementing modern production methods.

* Strong Leadership: Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage site teams and collaborate across production and supply chain departments.
