The Client

My client a specialist in Hydrographic, Land, and Engineering Surveys company established in 2016 they deliver precise and accurate dimensional data of both constructed and natural surroundings, utilising state-of-the-art equipment and advanced techniques.

Our client is a multidisciplinary survey company with expertise in various surveys, including Topographical, Boundary, Hydrographic, Dimensional Control Surveys, and Marine Vessel scanning, both in the UK and internationally.

The Role

Are you ready to lead a dynamic team and drive innovation in geospatial data management?

Our client is seeking a GIS Manager who will spearhead their GIS department, ensuring the accurate and efficient delivery of geospatial data for their hydrographic and land survey projects. In this critical role, you'll integrate GIS technology throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initial planning to final map production.

Responsibilities

·

Oversee the GIS department, including staff management, project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.

·

Create and implement a comprehensive GIS strategy that aligns with our company's goals.

·

Lead the development and maintenance of spatial databases, encompassing hydrographic and land survey data such as bathymetry, seabed imagery, and 3D point cloud data.

·

Utilise

advanced GIS techniques, including 3D modelling and geospatial analysis, to enhance survey data interpretation.

·

Work closely with hydrographic surveyors and data processing specialists to integrate GIS with survey operations seamlessly.

·

Establish and enforce quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and consistency of all GIS outputs.

·

Identify and implement new GIS applications to enhance the value of hydrographic survey data for clients.

·

Maintain clear and concise GIS workflows and procedures.

·

Provide training and mentorship to team members, enhancing their GIS skills and knowledge.

·

Identify opportunities for efficiency gains within the GIS department.

Requirements

·

Proficiency in GIS software platforms such as ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD, or similar tools.

·

Strong understanding of hydrographic survey techniques, data formats, and standards.

·

Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

·

Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

·

Experience with open-source web GIS applications and knowledge of PostGIS/PostgreSQL or GeoPackage spatial databases is highly desirable.

The Rewards

Competitive salary of £35,000 - £45,000 plus a company vehicle.
