Geotechnical Engineer - Leeds
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 + benefits
A growing geotechnical consultancy is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join their Leeds team. This is a great opportunity for an engineer with experience in geotechnical design and ground investigation who is looking to develop their technical skills and progress their career.
The role will involve working on a range of projects across the residential, commercial, infrastructure and civil engineering sectors, with a good balance of technical design, reporting and site work.
The Role
Delivering geotechnical engineering projects from investigation through to design
Reviewing ground investigation data and developing ground models
Undertaking geotechnical calculations and analysis
Producing geotechnical and interpretative reports
Designing foundations, retaining walls and earthworks
Carrying out slope stability and settlement assessments
Supporting earthworks and temporary works design
Attending sites to oversee ground investigations and construction works
Liaising with clients, contractors and other consultants
Supporting project management and helping to deliver projects to programme and budget
Working alongside and supporting graduate and junior engineers
Requirements
Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related subject
Previous experience within a geotechnical consultancy environment
Good understanding of UK ground conditions and geotechnical principles
Experience with geotechnical design and reporting
Familiarity with relevant design standards and Eurocodes
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A full UK driving licence is desirable
Working towards Chartered Engineer status would be advantageous
