Description:
TeacherActive are seeking a passionate and dedicated Geography Teacher to join one of our partner schools in Dartford to cover a maternity leave. As a Geography Teacher, you will play a crucial role in inspiring and educating students about the world around them, fostering a deep understanding of geographical concepts and phenomena.
The role is to start after May half term but September applicants would also be considered.
Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in accordance with the school's curriculum and standards.
Utilise a variety of teaching methodologies to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and fosters curiosity about geography.
Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary learning opportunities and enrich the curriculum.
Participate in departmental meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school events as required.
Stay abreast of developments in the field of geography education and incorporate relevant advancements into teaching practice.
Qualifications:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
Proven experience teaching geography at the secondary level
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for geography education.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement.
