Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Geo-Environmental Engineer to join their enthusiastic and dynamic team. This role is ideal for professionals with a minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience, who are either Chartered or looking to become Chartered in the near future. You will be based in their Altrincham, Manchester office, working on a diverse array of geo-environmental projects that involve investigating and remediating contaminated land, intersecting with engineering geology and geotechnical engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide geo-environmental expertise and advice across the Group's area offices, including on-site attendance as needed.

Produce technical reports such as Desk Studies, Intrusive Geo-Environmental Reports, Remediation Statements, and Validation Reports.

Liaise with clients, providing consultancy advice on geo-environmental issues.

Collaborate with Contaminated Land Officers and the Environment Agency.

Design site investigation and remediation schemes.

Conduct peer reviews of external reports.

Candidate Requirements:

B.Sc./M.Sc. in an environmental-related field.

3+ years of experience in UK contaminated land investigation.

Strong technical background in the investigation, remediation, and validation of contaminated land.

Proficiency in technical reporting for Phase 1, 2, 3 / Tiers 1-4 stages of investigation.

Knowledge of generic and site-specific risk assessments (GQRA & DQRA), CLEA, groundwater contamination, P20 assessments, landfill/mine gas risk assessments, remediation techniques, soil waste classification, and validation.

Understanding of invasive weed management.

Familiarity with current UK legislation for contaminated land.

Some engineering geology/geotechnical knowledge, particularly related to ground hazard modelling (CGHM) and foundation methods.

Experience in logging soils to BS5930/Eurocode 7 standards.

Full UK driver's license.
