TSR Ipswich are working with a multi-disciplined engineering company who have been trading for over 100 years. Based at their site in mid Suffolk, the Generator Technician will join their busy diesel generator team to service, maintain and repair diesel generators and associated equipment.
The company has over 35 staff working in areas covering diesel generators, automatic transmission, electrical and mechanical engineering services to a wide range of customers, businesses and industries throughout the South and East of England.
In this varied and crucial role, you will service, maintain and repair diesel generators and associated equipment. You will attend breakdowns, along with fault finding and diagnosis, along with load bank testing. You will also provide 24 Hour emergency cover on call-out rota (on-call 1 week in every 5) and assist in the installation of diesel generators. You will be equipped with the latest diagnostic software to provide customers with the highest level of service.
To succeed in this role you will come from an experienced electrical/mechanical engineering background and ideally be approved electrician, with 18th Edition. You will possess good diagnostic skills and have knowledge of common generator control systems is an advantage, along with a good level of computer literacy.
Salary is circa £32,000 – £35,000 along with a fully expensed company van, mobile phone and laptop provided. Other benefits include 20 days holiday rising to 25 with service + bank holidays, pension 5% after probationary period and life assurance
