General Operations Manager – Waste & Recycling
Salary Range: £55,000 - £70,000, depending on experience.
Location: Pangbourne, Earley, Woodley and Reading – Open to candidates considering relocation
Preferred Previous Roles Include: Commercial Waste Depot Manager, Operations Director, Manager of Metal Recycling Operations, WEEE Collections Manager, Manager of Aggregates Recycling, Transfer Station Manager, Managing Director, Depot General Manager
Role Overview: As the General Operations Manager in the Waste & Recycling sector, you will assume leadership of a dynamic waste collection and processing operation.
Your responsibilities will encompass both strategic and operational aspects, with a strong emphasis on financial performance and sustainable growth. Operating within the parameters of safety and environmental regulations, you will foster a culture of compliance and employee training. Your focus on enhancing safety, quality, and productivity while optimizing expenditure will be central to your role.
Professional Experience: To excel in this role, you must bring a proven background within the waste management domain, spanning metal recycling, commercial waste, commodities recycling, WEEE and waste electricals, construction & demolition waste, recycled aggregates, biomass, skip hire, or comparable fields.
Ideally, your experience will have spanned the realms of collections and processing operations. Your adeptness at personnel management will be evident, underscored by your ability to lead and motivate teams.
Ideal qualifications such as COTC / WAMITAB, IOSH, and NEBOSH are valuable assets. Commercial acumen and a track record of successfully managing profit and loss (P&L) are fundamental.
