General Manager | Cambridge | Full Time | £40,000 basic up to £8,000 performance related bonus with annual pay review
Our client is the world’s oldest free speech and debating society, renowned for its rich history and vibrant community. They are an education charity and private members club, situated in a magnificent Victorian building in the heart of Cambridge.
Their commercial arm drives revenue through innovative hospitality, conferencing, and other business activities. They take pride in their independence, innovation ability, and the unique environment they create for their members and guests.
You will be a dynamic and experienced individual to join their Senior Management Team as the Deputy to the Bursar, with a focus on commercial operations. In this pivotal role, you will lead and manage the operational running of the organisation, ensuring the highest standards of service and efficiency.

What will your role look like?
Manage and mentor staff
Ensure exceptional service to all customers
Work with members to deliver a high standard of in-house events
Develop, implement, and drive high standards in all operational policies
In conjunction with the Bursar develop commercial budgets and forecasts
Monitor financial performance, including budgeting and cost control
Plan and execute commercial marketing activities
Lead a culture of continuous improvement
Ensure full compliance with health and safety and legislative requirements.
