Description:
We are working on behalf of our client, a well-established automotive business in Scarborough, to recruit an experienced General Manager. This is a highly sought-after General Manager opportunity for a motivated, commercially-minded professional with proven management experience within the motor trade. The successful General Manager will assume responsibility for the daily operations of the business, driving performance, enhancing customer satisfaction, and leading a dedicated team.

Oversee daily operational activities across all departments, ensuring efficiency and customer focus
Lead, motivate and develop the team to meet business objectives
Monitor financial performance, sales targets, and profit margins
Develop strategic initiatives to increase revenue and improve overall performance
Manage recruitment, staff training, and development programmes
Monitor KPIs and implement improvements as necessary
Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and company policies
Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and manufacturer representatives
Report on business performance, identify future growth opportunities, and formulate strategic plansRequirements:
Previous management experience within the automotive industry
Strong understanding of dealership or automotive business operations
Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
Experience managing budgets, profitability, and performance targets
Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
Commercial awareness with the ability to identify growth opportunities
