We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a reputable multi-franchise approved commercial vehicle dealership in Gloucester, for the position of General Manager. Take overall responsibility for the site, ensuring operational excellence across departments including service, parts, and sales
Lead and motivate the team to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction and business targets
Monitor compliance with statutory regulations, manufacturer standards, and health & safety policies
Control departmental and site costs to optimise profitability as a General Manager
Oversee workshop scheduling, resource management, and workflow to meet customer needs
Collaborate with marketing, IT, and other internal departments to uphold company values and policies
Drive the achievement of KPIs through strong leadership and hands-on management
Develop and support apprentices and staff, conducting regular performance reviews and personal development planning
Build and maintain strong customer relationships and undertake performance analysis for continuous improvement
Promote health and safety initiatives, including risk assessments and training activities
Foster a positive team environment, encouraging professional growth and high standards of serviceRequirements of a General Manager:
Proven experience as a Service Manager, Aftersales Manager, or in a similar leadership role within a medium to large franchise-approved automotive dealership
Previous management experience at a general management level is advantageous
Effective leadership and team development skills
Strong operational and financial management acumen
IT literacy with proficiency in relevant systems
Valid UK driving licence with minimal points
Reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Gloucester
