Our client is actively seeking an experienced Gearbox Technician to join a leading automotive workshop in Egham.
This role offers the opportunity to specialise in gearbox diagnostics, removal, and refit work within a state-of-the-art facility. The ideal Gearbox Technician will have demonstrable experience in gearbox work, a practical approach, and the ability to support general mechanical tasks.
Benefits:
Competitive salary between £35,000 and £45,000, depending on experience
Revenue-based monthly bonus of approximately £400, based on quality of work
Monday to Friday working hours, 8am to 5pm, with a 45-minute lunch break

Supportive team environment encouraging professional developmentDuties of the Gearbox Technician:
Remove and refit gearboxes across various vehicle makes and models
Perform diagnostic tests using industry-standard equipment to identify faults
Support general mechanical tasks such as servicing, brakes, and other repairs
Assist with gearbox stripping, rebuilding, and preventative maintenance
Conduct test drives to verify repairs and quality standards
Maintain high levels of workmanship, safety, and efficiency
Support team members and contribute to a collaborative workshop environment as a Gearbox TechnicianRequirements:
Proven experience as a time-served mechanic with a focus on gearbox work
Ability to confidently remove and refit gearboxes
Own toolbox and diagnostic skills, including test-drive capabilities
Practical, team-oriented mindset willing to undertake challenging gearbox tasks
Local individuals preferred, ideally based around M25, M3, or A3 corridors
