Gateman / Traffic Marshal Job Description

Job Title: Gateman / Traffic Marshal
Location: Plymouth
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 17:30

Role Overview

We are looking for a reliable and organised Gateman / Traffic Marshal to join our site team in Plymouth. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site access, controlling vehicle movements, and ensuring the safety of all personnel and visitors entering and leaving the site.

Key Responsibilities

Controlling and monitoring access to the construction site.
Signing visitors, contractors, and delivery drivers in and out.
Directing site traffic and deliveries safely around the site.
Banking and assisting vehicles when manoeuvring.
Maintaining site security at all times.
Ensuring pedestrians and vehicles follow designated routes.
Recording deliveries and keeping accurate site logs.
Reporting any safety concerns or incidents to site management.
Keeping the gate area clean, tidy, and organised.

Requirements

Valid Banksman / Traffic Marshal qualification.
Previous experience working on a construction site.
Computer literate and confident using basic IT systems.
Reliable, punctual, and professional.
Well organised with strong attention to detail.
Own transport required due to site location.
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
