Gas Engineer
Location: London Borough of Hackney
Pay: £23.41 per hour PAYE | £31.54 per hour Umbrella
Contract: Temporary Ongoing

We are recruiting an experienced Gas Engineer to support Hackney Housing in delivering high-quality servicing, repairs, maintenance, and installation work across residential properties throughout the borough. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy Housing Repairs team providing both planned and reactive maintenance services. Based on the requirements outlined below
Key Responsibilities
Service, repair, maintain, and install domestic gas heating and hot water systems.
Carry out annual gas safety inspections and servicing programmes.
Diagnose faults and repair boilers, radiators, pumps, valves, heating controls, and associated pipework.
Complete gas safety certificates and all required compliance documentation.
Undertake minor multi-skilled works including basic plumbing, electrical, and making-good repairs.
Deliver excellent customer service while working within occupied and void properties.
Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with current Gas Safety Regulations.
Accurately record work completed and maintain up-to-date job records.
Essential Requirements
Valid ACS Gas Qualifications.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Proven experience servicing, repairing, and installing domestic gas appliances and heating systems.
Strong understanding of current Gas Safety Regulations.
Ability to diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently.
Experience working within social housing, local authority, or responsive repairs environments is desirable.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
