Description:
Sure Start Staff is looking for x2 Gardeners with a UK driving licence to work for the Local Authority in Rochdale.
*PA1 & PA6 Certificate preferred.
*UK Driving licence - Essential – to be produced on first day of work
Employment Type: Temporary, 6 months, with the opportunity for extension
Pay rate: £12.59 per hour
Hours: Full time, 7.40hrs per day, 5 days per week
Location: Rochdale
x1 at Green Lane
x1 at Hollingworth Lake
Start: July 2024
Description/Duties but not limited to
You will carry out general gardening/ grounds maintenance duties, including grass cutting using pedestrian, handheld ride-on mowers.
Strimming, Hedge trimming, shrub maintenance, edging off on the councils green spaces, weed removal, general street cleansing.
Operatives will also be expected to Litter pick areas where required and empty litter bins if necessary.
Candidate Profile
* Candidate must be physically fit as you will be required to lift heavy machinery.
* Enthusiastic.
* Reliable and willing to learn about all aspects of horticulture.
* Candidates must be able to work on their own or as part of a team.
* You must also be willing to work in any part of the borough.
* Candidates must also be willing to work overtime as part of the service needs and requirements - This will be on an ad-hoc basis.
* Working outside in all weather conditions and seasons.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety.
Qualifications and Experience
* A full UK driving licence – Essential.
* Qualification in Horticulture NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent - Desirable.
* Have Pesticides application Certificate PA1 & PA6 – Desirable.
* Previous Gardening experience in a working environment.
