Role: Games Design Tutor
Location: East London
Type: Permanent - Full & part time roles
Salary: £27,000 - £33,000 - Full Time
Salary: £14,000 - £17,000 - Part Time (based on 18 hours per week)
Eden Brown are looking for an outstanding games design tutor to join a Creative School for 14 - 16 year olds in East London. We require a tutor with experience in 2D and 3D game production pipelines, understanding of underlying game design principles and a wider knowledge of the creative media production industries.
Key tasks
*Plan and deliver exciting lessons supporting learner progression, that relate to their needs and interests
*Promote safety, wellbeing and safeguarding (CPOMS)
*Record attendance and academic notes on Arbor MIS
*Track learner progression on the allocated Google Sheets
*Develop innovative opportunities for interdepartmental and intradepartmental project collaborations
*Use a range of assessment methods and provide outstanding and prompt feedback to inspire learners
*Complete learner one-to-one tutorials and individual learning plans on a bi-termly basis
*Facilitate the wide-range of enrichment trips and guest speaker events arranged across the year
*Work towards a stable learner retention and qualification achievement rate
*Undertake in-house training to remain up-to-date with awarding body expectations
*Support learners to prepare for their assessed end-of-year project
Essential Qualifications
? Maths and English GCSE Grade 4/C or equivalent (Level 2)
? Degree/relevant qualification in the subject area
Essential Qualities / Skills
*Extremely organised and able to manage your own workload effectively and flexibly
*Highly motivated and driven to succeed
*Outstanding teaching and communication skills and understanding of Ofsted framework
*Solution-focused and able to responding to data trends
*Assertive and confident in learning environment management
*Ambitious and committed to meeting targets, setting standards of behaviour and work
*Empathy towards the many challenges faced by young adults in a demographic with high free school meals rate and poverty levels
*Excellent communication skills
*Visual scripting/programming skills
Desired qualities
*Experience with Adobe Photoshop/After Effects/Premiere -modelling, concept art/textures
*Experience of working professionally in a relevant creative industry/as an entrepreneur
*Experience with Autodesk Maya/Blender -animating, skinning, rigging, texturing, 3D modelling
*Experience with Unity/Unreal Engine -animation-to-engine pipelines
*Drawing and art skills
