You'll be supported throughout the programme by experienced teachers and mentors, giving you the opportunity to learn on the job and develop your confidence along the way.

Year 1 – Gain Experience in the Classroom

Delivering lessons using resources prepared by teachers

Managing classrooms and supporting positive behaviour

Helping pupils with their learning

Working alongside teachers and school staff

Observing experienced teachers

Taking part in training and development

Building your confidence and understanding of secondary education

The aim of your first year is to give you a solid grounding in school life and prepare you for the next step.

Year 2 – Train to Become a Qualified Teacher

In your second year, you'll move into formal teacher training while continuing to work in a school.

You'll work towards achieving:

PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

As your confidence and experience grow, you'll gradually take on more responsibility for planning and delivering lessons.

You'll also receive ongoing mentoring, support and professional development throughout the year.

What You'll Get

£23,000–£27,000 salary

Fully funded PGCE and QTS

No tuition fees

Two years of paid, school-based experience

Support from experienced teachers and mentors

Regular training and professional development

A clear route into a career in teaching
