Funding Eligibility Assessor - Band 5
We are currently recruiting for a Funding Eligibility Assessor to work with one of our fantastic Public Sector clients in Coventry, CV3.

This a 4 month temporary position initially but one in which you would be able to gain valuable exposure/experience working within the Public Sector.

If you have worked within the public sector before this would be advantageous but not essential. If you have transferable experience, then we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities to include:
Background The Department for Education is reviewing post-16 qualifications at level 3 and below, to ensure that qualifications are necessary, high-quality and deliver strong outcomes for learners and the economy. This review will take place in stages over the next four years and requires substantial evaluation with awarding organisations (AOs) having to revise existing qualifications or design and develop new ones to meet new criteria for funding approval. The role(s)
These roles will support the processing, assessment and moderation of new qualifications submitted for funding approval.
This involves working closely with staff in DfE and the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Qualifications (IfATE) and potentially communication with Awarding Organisations. Full training will be provided.
Essential skills / experience;
Attention to detail: Ability to complete and check data entry accurately - Excel skills: Ability to manage and analyse large amounts of data and information in Excel, ability to use formulas and links spreadsheets also desirable - Quick learner, flexible and able to work independently: Ability to absorb and process new information quickly and apply their knowledge independently as well as when working closely with others. Confident to ask for help and clarification when needed. - Time management: Able to manage own time effectively and work to deadlines, able to identify when deadlines aren?t likely to be met. - Communication skills: Good written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate concisely and coherently with a range of colleagues and external stakeholders, where necessary.
Desirable experience - Experience working in the education sector, e.g. with learners or in the development of courses/qualifications would be a major advantage: While full training on the assessment criteria will be provided, previous experience in education is helpful in understanding the context of the role and engage with the work more fully. - Advanced Excel skills: the role would benefit from a broad range of MS Excel skills, including conditional formatting and complex formatting and the ability to test and check existing spreadsheets to identify mistakes or outliers.

Standard hours are 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday (9-5)
Pay rate of £16.75 per hour which is paid weekly.
