Job Role: Functional Skills Tutor (Maths and English)

Location: Northwest Region (Learning Centres, workplaces, customer locations and remote support)

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £26:000

Contract Type: Full-time, permanant position

We are Mantra Learning, the UK’s leading Logistics learning and development organisation. Mantra has supported the skills needs of the logistics sector for over 54 years and is an Ofsted rated grade 2 independent training provider. The Manchester site is well established as the largest specialist logistics training facility in the UK. 

Our organisation provides training for people at all levels, supporting individuals to gain work to developing senior managers. We also strive to improve learners life prosects by offering programmes such as mental health and wellbeing, digital skills, English and maths.

Through our two key brands of The Job Gym and The National Logistics Academy and utilising several different types of government funding that we have successfully secured, we help thousands of learners each year to gain new skills.

Role: Mantra Learning are currently seeking a skilled Functional Skills Tutor to deliver Maths and English courses to students in the Northwest Region. This position offers the unique opportunity to significantly impact our learners' job and career progression, by enhancing their practical Maths and English skills.

Responsibilities:

Deliver targeted Functional Skills lessons in Maths and English to a diverse group of learners.

Utilise a variety of teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students varying needs and interests.

Assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching strategies to foster effective learning.

Implement individual learning plans and provide personalised support to ensure student achievement in line with educational standards.

Promote a positive learning environment, encouraging students to engage in their education actively.

The successful candidate will:

Have proven experience in teaching Functional Skills Maths and English to varied age groups.

Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of motivating and inspiring learners.

Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing educational practices and student success.

Be patient, adaptable, and have a genuine passion for teaching fundamental skills.

A passionate educator with a proven track record of inspiring and supporting learners

Flexibility and willingness to travel across the Northwest to provide support where needed.

Strong communication skills and the ability to engage learners both online and offline.

Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in education delivery.

Have an understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.

Qualifications:

Possess a relevant teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent) in a related subject.
