Are you an experienced Functional Skills teacher or tutor looking for flexible work? Prospero Teaching are recruiting now!
The Opportunity
Prospero Teaching is currently seeking Functional Skills Tutors to provide 1:1 tuition to learners across Halton.
You'll support students working towards Functional Skills qualifications in English and/or Maths, helping them develop essential literacy and numeracy skills while working towards their educational goals.
Each learner will have different needs, so the ability to adapt your sessions and teaching style is essential.
Position Details:
Location: Halton
Position: Functional Skills Tutor
Hours: 5-15 hours per week
Start Date: September 2026
Duration: Ongoing
Experience, Training and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience delivering Functional Skills English and/or Maths
Previous teaching or tutoring experience
Strong subject knowledge
A flexible and learner-focused approach
Experience supporting learners with gaps in education would be beneficial
To be eligible for this role, you must:
Hold the Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service or be willing to obtain one
Provide two professional references
