Functional Skills Maths Tutor - Halton
Location: Halton
Hours: 5-15 hours per week
Start Date: September 2026
Duration: Ongoing
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated Functional Skills Maths Tutor to deliver flexible 1:1 support to a learner in Halton.
This role would suit a tutor who is confident working with learners who may have gaps in their education and can make numeracy skills practical, accessible and engaging.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver 1:1 Functional Skills Maths tuition
Identify areas for development
Plan lessons around individual targets
Break down mathematical concepts clearly
Adapt sessions to maintain engagement
Encourage progress and confidence
Provide regular feedback
Requirements
Experience delivering Functional Skills Maths or similar
Strong Maths and numeracy knowledge
Previous teaching or tutoring experience
Experience supporting young people
Patient and adaptable approach
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
Right to Work in the UK
Two professional child-related references
