Description:
Our client, a leader in electric vehicle battery research has an exciting opportunity for a Functional Safety Engineer. The successful candidate will support activities throughout the product development lifecycle.
The Functional Safety Engineer will:
Ensure consistency between SW/HW Safety Requirements, Hardware-Software-Interface (HSI), SW/HW Architecture and Technical Safety Concept or System Architectural Design Specification.
Apply safety analyses methods (e.g. FMEA, FTA, DFA) with broad exposure to different processes, methodologies, and stakeholder objectives.
Support in delivery of ISO26262 process to vehicle manufacturers and tier 1 suppliers covering all aspects of the safety lifecycle.
Contribute to formal gap analyses between SEooC BMS and Customers’ safety requirements).
Support GEN5m BMS product ISO26262 accreditation.
The Functional Safety Engineer will have:
Degree or equivalent in a relevant Engineering or Science related discipline.
Automotive experience, including HV applications and ISO26262.
Awareness of ISO26262 / ISO9001 / ISO14001, internal IMS and Quality & Environmental / Health & Safety / Legal & Regulatory policies and processes.
Working knowledge of automotive e-powertrain systems (e,g, batteries/energy storage; BMS) and understanding their interfaces and integration into the vehicle.
Practical experience of using safety development tools (e.g. Ansys Medini, Isograph Reliability Workbench tool)
