Description:

Are you an experienced Contracts Manager with a strong residential site management background? Or are you a highly capable Site Manager ready to take the next step into contracts management?
We’re working with an established residential construction business delivering high-quality projects across the Thames Valley. This is a genuine long-term opportunity for a Contracts Manager to join a close-knit company, initially taking ownership of a significant new-build residential project before progressing into a wider management position.

The Opportunity
Your initial project will be a new-build three-bedroom house just outside Reading, with an anticipated programme of approximately seven months.
You will be expected to take full ownership of the site and manage its day-to-day delivery independently. Alongside running the project, you’ll work closely with senior management and gain further exposure to the commercial and operational aspects of contracts management.
The long-term plan is for the successful candidate to transition into a wider role, overseeing approximately seven or eight projects.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Contracts Manager, your responsibilities will initially include:

Taking day-to-day responsibility for a new-build residential site.
Managing the project through its anticipated seven-month programme.
Coordinating site activities, trades and supply chain.
Ensuring works progress safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
Taking ownership of programme and project delivery.
Working closely with senior management.
Building strong relationships with the existing team and subcontractors.
Learning the company's approach to contracts management.
Progressing into responsibility for multiple concurrent projects.
About You
We're particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have:

Strong previous experience as a residential Site Manager.
Experience operating as a Contracts Manager, or clear ambition to progress into the role.
The ability to independently manage a substantial new-build residential project.
A strong understanding of construction processes and site delivery.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
The confidence to take ownership and make decisions on site.
A dependable, hands-on approach.
Ideally, a trade background, with carpentry experience particularly desirable.
The ambition to develop into a long-term Contracts Manager overseeing multiple projects.
This role would suit an experienced Site Manager who has reached the point where they are ready to step into a broader Contracts Manager position, as well as an established professional looking for a long-term opportunity with a growing residential contractor.

What's On Offer

£280 per day, depending on experience and competence.
Initial 26-week temporary-to-permanent arrangement if desired.
Genuine opportunity to move into a permanent position.
Long-term responsibility for approximately seven or eight projects.
Potential permanent salary and performance-related bonus structure.
Projects concentrated across the Thames Valley.
Opportunity to work closely with senior management and develop your career.
A long-term position rather than a short-term contract.
If you're an experienced Contracts Manager or a strong residential Site Manager looking for the next step, we'd be keen to hear from you.
