Profile – Front Line Leader

Our client is a leading figurehead in the UK food sector, with an unparalleled pedigree dating back to the early 18th century. They are currently seeking a Front-Line Leader to join their team.

Job Role - Front Line Leader

Reporting to the Front-Line Manager the Front-Line Leader shall lead and manage a bakery plant team/shift. The Front-Line Leader shall deliver the sites budgeted operational and financial targets, safely and to BRC higher level standards.

Duties - Front Line Leader

• Lead daily line briefings to all colleagues within own shift or area.
• Ensure communication boards are up to date, checked, reviewed, and shared at regular intervals through the shift.
• Immediately escalate issues (with a solution where possible) to the correct relevant level of management.
• Training & Development – to ensure all training plans agreed for the shift/area are delivered.
• Labour control – to liaise with labour control to ensure correct number of people on plant/area/shift.
• Disciplinary, grievance, appeals – to conduct thorough and complete investigations of matters raised, or to hold disciplinary or grievance hearings in line with company policy.
• Performance Management – to carry out effective Employee Development Reviews with direct reports.
• Attendance – to conduct all return-to-work interviews upon a colleagues return following any period of absence. To drive improvement in attendance levels across the shift/area.
• To understand, apply and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures.
• Ensure works order closure and ensure all stocks are closed out on SAP.
• Ensure all daily variances are investigated and actioned – raws, packs and labour.
• Operational KPIs – to ensure full understanding and awareness of key performance indicators - for own shift/area and actively drive opportunities to improve. Examples include complaints, performance to plan, OEE, waste.
• Complete with all accident/incident reporting and ensure direct reports are aware of the necessary procedures.

Experience/Qualifications – Front Line Leader

• Experience leading a team with in a FMCG environment.
• Level 2 Food Safety in Manufacturing.

Candidates who are currently a Team Manager, Team Leader, Team Supervisor, Front Line Leader, Front Line Manager and Production Manager could be suitable for this role.
